CHAPTER HISTORY

CHARTERED OCTOBER 4, 1940

In its proceedings, the Grand Board of Directors, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. granted a charter for the establishment of an alumni chapter in Norfolk. The Norfolk Alumni Chapter would be the first graduate chapter of the Fraternity in Virginia. Among the Kappa men responsible for establishing the chapter in Norfolk were: Victor J. Ashe, R.M.Anderson, E.D. Alston, Charles E. Black, Robert L. Barco, William Blocker, M.B, Brown, Richard Bell, Oliver Connor, Warnie Coltron, Fred Ellis, Isaac Faulkner, Vernon Gordon, B.C. Harrison, William Jones, William Mercer, Reverend Henry T. Meyers, James Overton, B. Scott Smith, Reverend D. C. Rice, Thaddeus Smith, Vincent Tubbs, Russell Wilson, Charles West, William Yancey, Edward C. Webb, Dr. Howard Walter Webb, and E.M. Zachary.
